Due to the information revolution, such as the internet and social networking sites, we are bombarded with information every day. In the midst of all this information, even the most important memories that have shaped who we are disappear into the depths of our unconscious.
Working on the wheel allows me to detach myself from all this information and to face myself as if in meditation. I work in a way that allows me to sort out the chaos of information and memories that exist in my mind. The plasticity of clay, which remembers the shape of the body when force is applied, allows the unconscious body to express itself as it is. Using clay as a material, I explore images that lie unconscious and consciously reconstruct them to create my work.
My work is multi-layered with images from the past: landscapes, information, animations, films. These images have something in common with everyone, and I hope that my work will help to awaken important memories that have been lost in the unconscious.
