Owning a Wu Wei Cheng piece is almost like becoming an insider, as its production is so rare in the West. He pursues a rigorous and radical research. Each piece is in itself a sculpture that plays on geometry, sometimes asymmetry and always on the subtle alliance of materials, treated using flat tints and with no pentimento. There is boldness in these rough or smoothed shapes, crossed by the concept as much as carried by the imprint of the gesture. Like the contemporary installation, each piece is to be integrated into a larger universe, a cosmogony of the author who would sing about the perfect but precarious balance of matter. Schopenhauer described architecture as solid music. Wu Wei Cheng's pieces set the tone for a deep, sonorous vibrato.
